Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and commercialization of gas application technologies and equipment for the Food and Beverage sector, including freezing, chilling, and atmosphere control systems.
• Support the identification and implementation of new and legacy food technologies from conception through proof-of-concept and scale-up.
• Design, build, and test application equipment within project teams to support major research and development programs.
• Execute technology demonstrations and business growth opportunities for customers at bench, pilot, and commercial scales.
• Evaluate experimental data, write technical reports, and prepare summaries for management and customers.
• Prepare invention and patent disclosures and provide future development program recommendations.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, equipment, controls, refrigeration, industrial, chemical, or food engineering.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar engineering role.
• Strong knowledge of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat and mass transfer, and mass and energy balances.
• Proficiency in equipment and mechanical design and process design.
• Ability to travel up to 25%, including international travel as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in a relevant engineering field.
• Experience with equipment and process controls, including PLCs.
• Proven track record in successful equipment development and commercialization.
