Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Perform O&M engineering involving maintenance, repair, upgrade, and operation of mechanical equipment and utility systems at military installations
• Determine major failure problems or instabilities and develop corrective actions
• Redesign systems, prescribe changes in materials and practices, and develop new calibration procedures
• Determine short and long-range requirements for the replacement of complex mechanical systems and equipment
• Serve as a technical consultant on all mechanical engineering aspects of projects and support trades and crafts shops
• Provide technical expertise to assist with project and construction management and ensure compliance with funding requirements

Requirements

• Active Secret security clearance (U.S. citizenship required)
• BS or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in Mechanical Engineering and design
• Proficiency with MS Office
• Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and manage complex facilities engineering projects

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineering (PE) license
• Experience with federal, state, and local codes concerning health, safety, and the environment
• Demonstrated knowledge of DoD policies and procedures, including contracting and funding
