About the role

Responsibilities

  • Work with the engineering team to design, build, and test satellite hardware and software
  • Design, evaluate, procure, assemble, and test spacecraft structures, bracketry, and mechanisms
  • Perform mechanical and thermal analysis for various spacecraft systems
  • Integrate parts and systems into the spacecraft and develop procedures to improve future build processes

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a B.S. in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or an equivalent technical degree (e.g., physics or applied math)
  • Demonstrated ability to personally design, build, and test hardware from scratch
  • Hands-on hardware design and development experience
  • U.S. Citizenship, Lawful Permanent Residency, or Refugee/Asylee Status required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CAD software
  • Experience with analytical software for stress or thermal analysis
  • Experience with electromechanical system design and specification
  • Experience with control system modeling and design
