About the role
Responsibilities
- Work with the engineering team to design, build, and test satellite hardware and software
- Design, evaluate, procure, assemble, and test spacecraft structures, bracketry, and mechanisms
- Perform mechanical and thermal analysis for various spacecraft systems
- Integrate parts and systems into the spacecraft and develop procedures to improve future build processes
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a B.S. in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or an equivalent technical degree (e.g., physics or applied math)
- Demonstrated ability to personally design, build, and test hardware from scratch
- Hands-on hardware design and development experience
- U.S. Citizenship, Lawful Permanent Residency, or Refugee/Asylee Status required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CAD software
- Experience with analytical software for stress or thermal analysis
- Experience with electromechanical system design and specification
- Experience with control system modeling and design
