About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide design, coordination, and oversight of mechanical systems for industrial facilities, including process piping, conveying systems, and compressed air or steam systems.
- Perform design calculations and equipment specifications for pumps, heat exchangers, boilers, and other process equipment.
- Coordinate mechanical design within multi-disciplinary teams and manage third-party engineering or vendor packages.
- Generate technical deliverables such as PFDs, P&IDs, datasheets, and vendor shop drawings.
- Support construction teams by answering RFIs and providing creative design solutions on-site.
- Conduct early-stage project work including conceptual studies, mass/energy balances, and preliminary equipment sizing.
- Mentor and advise junior staff on industry standards and best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET-accredited four-year university.
- Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification is required.
- Minimum of 4 years of industrial mechanical engineering experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Experience with mechanical design for data centers (boilers, chillers, CDUs, CRAHs, or fan walls).
- Experience leading engineering teams on EPC projects.
- Proficiency in AFT Fathom or AFT Arrow hydraulic simulation software.
