Mechanical Engineer - Industrial Facilities

Responsibilities

• Provide design, coordination, and oversight of mechanical systems for industrial facilities, including process piping, conveying systems, and compressed air or steam systems.
• Perform design calculations and equipment specifications for pumps, heat exchangers, boilers, and other process equipment.
• Coordinate mechanical design within multi-disciplinary teams and manage third-party engineering or vendor packages.
• Generate technical deliverables such as PFDs, P&IDs, datasheets, and vendor shop drawings.
• Support construction teams by answering RFIs and providing creative design solutions on-site.
• Conduct early-stage project work including conceptual studies, mass/energy balances, and preliminary equipment sizing.
• Mentor and advise junior staff on industry standards and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET-accredited four-year university.
• Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certification is required.
• Minimum of 4 years of industrial mechanical engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Experience with mechanical design for data centers (boilers, chillers, CDUs, CRAHs, or fan walls).
• Experience leading engineering teams on EPC projects.
• Proficiency in AFT Fathom or AFT Arrow hydraulic simulation software.
