Mechanical Engineer III

Responsibilities

• Lead product development programs for power tool saw blades and industrial bandsaw blades using the SBD Phase Gate process
• Create working models and physical prototypes using 3D CAD software (CATIA or similar)
• Prepare feasibility and lean studies, including competitive research, technical requirements, and budget planning
• Maintain engineering documentation such as BOMs, 2D drawings, test plans, and specifications
• Develop new testing equipment and procedures to evaluate product features through hands-on and robotic testing
• Analyze test data, communicate findings to stakeholders, and present reports to the leadership team
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve product performance, manufacturing processes, and cost reduction
• Support DFMEA and PFMEA sessions and participate in design reviews

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in product design or manufacturing
• 4+ years of experience using 3D/2D CAD software (CATIA preferred)
• Strong knowledge of GD&T
• Understanding of cutting tool applications and material properties
• Familiarity with metal fabrication processes and the design of forged metal parts
• Familiarity with heat treat and tempering processes of metals
• Ability to work in an industrial environment and perform hands-on testing with power tools
