About the role

Responsibilities

  • Development of mechanical components and electro-mechanical systems including design, prototyping, production, and integration
  • Support and execute hardware testing such as system-level performance validation and Archimedes hotfires
  • Perform analysis of electro-mechanical and structural assemblies via classical and computer methods
  • Contribute to reusable vehicle architectures by optimizing designs for hands-off reusability
  • Travel to vendors and test sites within the US and occasionally to New Zealand

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or equivalent
  • 2+ years of professional experience with mechanical or electro-mechanical design and analysis

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional experience with NX, Ansys, or similar tools
  • Experience designing for thermal and dynamic environments
  • Strong fundamentals in 3D modeling, FEA, and GD&T
  • Experience with avionics integration and packaging
  • Proficiency with Python or similar software languages
  • Experience with vibration and shock testing or HASS/HALT testing
  • Experience with control systems for electro-mechanical components
