Mechanical Engineer II

Responsibilities

• Lead component-level mechanical design from requirements through manufacturing and testing
• Perform tolerance stack-up analysis and apply GD&T principles
• Conduct structural, thermal, and fluid system engineering analysis using FEA tools
• Design and execute experiments and testing activities using Design of Experiments methodologies
• Integrate sensors, actuators, and instrumentation into experimental and operational systems
• Select materials based on thermal, structural, and fatigue requirements
• Collaborate with vendors to source custom and commercial components
• Troubleshoot mechanical and experimental systems during testing and field operations

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
• 2–5 years of related engineering experience in design or product development
• Proficiency with CAD software (Creo preferred)
• Experience with structural analysis tools such as ANSYS Mechanical or similar FEA platforms
• Strong understanding of GD&T and tolerance analysis
• Working knowledge of fluid systems, thermal systems, and mechanical testing
• Familiarity with ASME standards for pressure-containing systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in R&D, manufacturing, energy, aerospace, or industrial environments
• Experience with CFD evaluations and flow analysis
