Mechanical Engineer II

Responsibilities

• Create design solutions with excellent engineering and documentation processes
• Design and create prototypes using in-house and external fabrication
• Perform engineering calculations to support design work
• Contribute to the development of systems through to handoff for product commercialization
• Drive engineering excellence and the adherence to the scientific method
• Compile and analyze operational, test, and research data to establish technical specifications
• Transition from office work to field work as required

Requirements

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering
• 5+ years of professional work experience as a Mechanical Engineer
• Knowledge of component manufacturing processes including machining and rapid prototyping
• Experience leading large system development projects
• Proficiency in parametric solid modeling and CAD software
• SolidWorks and PDM experience
• Familiarity with drawing and tolerancing standards
• Knowledge of Agile Scrum methodology
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in challenging outdoor environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous automation industry experience
• Previous start-up experience
• Experience with thermal and mechanical FEA and topological optimization
• Proficiency with Ansys or Solidworks simulation
• Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot electrical/mechanical systems
• Industrial safety system experience
