Mechanical Engineer II, HV Charging

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of in-house HV connector designs and the routing and optimization of HV harnesses for next-generation vehicle platforms
• Integrate mechanical designs with high voltage electrical systems in a multidisciplinary environment
• Create 3D CAD models and 2D GD&T controlled drawings of intricate components and complex assemblies
• Optimize designs for size, weight, durability, and cost
• Investigate challenges with high-voltage distribution assemblies such as charge ports, HV connectors, and HV harnesses
• Apply engineering first-principles to solve complex technical challenges and implement innovative solutions

Requirements

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering
• 3-6 years of relevant work experience
• Proficiency in CAD (3DX/CATIA experience highly beneficial)
• Experience with FEA using Ansys or similar software
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as injection molding, sheet metal stamping, and die casting
• Experience with root cause corrective action processes
• Strong team-working and interpersonal skills in a cross-functional environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with automotive engineering
• Experience with power electronics
• Knowledge of design considerations for high-voltage environments
