About the role

Responsibilities

  • Develop innovative mechanical subsystems using solid modeling and drawing creation with CAD tools such as Creo Parametric or Solidworks
  • Create preliminary sketches, diagrams, and 3-D design models to support conceptual designs
  • Support mechanical engineering solutions for production issues to ensure rapid and efficient resolution
  • Collaborate with functional team leads on integration efforts across the Sentinel portfolio to ensure successful system design and program execution
  • Provide technical data package (TDP) support, including design, manufacturing, and failure investigation solutions

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics)
  • U.S. citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a U.S. government security clearance
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical engineering design
  • Ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally to suppliers and production facilities
  • Experience resolving technical challenges and exposure to product lifecycle stages

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or hardware system design
  • Experience with manufacturing and tolerancing mechanisms
  • Exposure to ANSI/ASME Y14.5 GD&T (Geometric Dimension and Tolerances)
  • Strong CAD, technical writing, and oral communication skills
  • Willingness to work in a factory environment supporting full-rate production
