Mechanical Engineer (Hydraulics)

About the Company

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and test every mechanical aspect of the machine, including structures, fluid systems (hydraulics), and chassis components
• Own hardware through the full product life cycle from design and analysis to build and test
• Interface with field users to define design requirements and implement improvements
• Create comprehensive design documentation for manufacturing, assembly, and testing
• Design and integrate subsystems for an autonomous mechanical machine operating in tunnels
• Research and select appropriate materials
• Maintain detailed tracking for system mass, cost, and build schedules
• Support qualification plans including acoustic, vibration, shock, static load, and thermal tests

Requirements

• 7+ years of work experience
• Degree in any field of engineering or equivalent training
• Experience with 3D CAD modeling and 2D drawing specifications
• Experience with heavy equipment hydraulic systems such as tractors, excavators, or mining systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency with NX or SolidWorks
• Demonstrated skills in FEA for structural analysis (e.g., ANSYS, FEMAP/Nastran)
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles
• Expertise in hydraulic system design
• Experience with machining, sheet metal, and 3D printing manufacturing techniques
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues effectively
• Experience with hands-on mechanical engineering work
