Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for enclosures, mounting structures, sensor integration, cabling, and electronics packaging
• Create and maintain 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and documentation
• Lead integration of mechanical systems with electrical, software, and payload components
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are producible and cost-effective
• Participate in assembly, integration, and test activities, including at-sea and environmental testing
• Contribute to configuration management, change control, and engineering review

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field
• 8+ years of professional mechanical engineering design experience on complex hardware/software systems
• Extensive experience with SolidWorks CAD tool
• Knowledge of manufacturing techniques such as machining, composite fabrication, or additive manufacturing
• Experience with DFMA principles, FEA tools, and design standards
• Strong technical documentation and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with underwater vehicles, robotics, or maritime/defense systems
• Active DoD clearance
