Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical aircraft interior furnishings and structures including ceilings, sidewalls, flooring, and ceiling grids
• Analyze and interpret subsystem and project specifications
• Select materials based on structural needs, evaluating trade-offs in composites, coatings, and treatments
• Optimize designs for reduced parts counts and manufacturing costs in collaboration with Manufacturing Engineers
• Ensure all designs meet customer criteria, quality standards, and FAA requirements
• Maintain Bills of Materials, assembly concepts, and fabrication specifications
• Provide design guidance, feedback, and liaison engineering support to other personnel

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in engineering
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experience
• Strong 3D CAD skills (Inventor preferred) and 2D CAD skills (AutoCAD)
• Knowledge of industry design, documentation, and drafting (ANSI Y14.5) standards
• Understanding of manufacturing methodologies, design-for-manufacturing, and assembly
• Understanding of mechanical motion modeling and weight and balance analysis
• Ability to qualify as a US Person for ITAR compliance

• Aviation industry background
• Specific experience with aircraft interiors
