Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical aircraft interior furnishings and structures including ceilings, sidewalls, flooring, and floor structures
• Analyze and interpret subsystem and project specifications
• Select materials based on structural needs, evaluating trade-offs in composites, coatings, and treatments
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers to optimize designs for reduced costs and assembly errors
• Ensure all designs meet customer criteria, quality standards, and FAA requirements
• Maintain design documentation and adhere to project budgets and schedules
• Provide design guidance and liaison engineering support to other personnel

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experience
• Proficiency in 3D CAD (Inventor preferred) and 2D CAD (AutoCAD)
• Knowledge of industry design and drafting standards (ANSI Y14.5)
• Understanding of manufacturing methodologies, design-for-manufacturing, and assembly
• Ability to perform mechanical motion modeling and weight and balance analysis
• Must qualify as a US Person for ITAR compliance

• Aviation industry background
• Specific experience with aircraft interior design
