Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Define technical and regulatory requirements of High Voltage (HV) battery pack
• Perform mechanical component design and review of HV battery pack including module design and component selection
• Manage release of mechanical design and work with CAD designers for models and drawings
• Work with external suppliers to ensure components meet all requirements
• Coordinate and lead weekly teleconferences with suppliers and internal teams
• Work with systems engineers to define mechanical system DFMEA
• Review DVP&R and work with test and validation teams to validate mechanical design

Requirements

• BS in Mechanical Engineering
• 1-3 years of experience in Lithium ion battery design
• Design release experience in the automotive industry
• Experience working with supply chain and quality engineering for supplier selection
• Proven hands-on experience in mechanical analysis
• Experience in high volume manufacturing environments

Preferred Qualifications

• MS in Mechanical Engineering
• 3+ years of experience in mechanical engineering
• Excellent understanding of DFMEA
• Proficiency in CATIA V6
• Over 3 years of design release experience in mechanical engineering
