Responsibilities

• Own structural design from concept to production, including frames, mounts, and supporting structures for robotic and vision systems
• Perform calculations, simulations, and lab validations to confirm component integrity and reliability
• Develop mechanical architectures suitable for demanding industrial environments
• Drive the end-to-end design lifecycle from initial sketch through prototyping, NPI, and production release
• Perform tolerance analysis and create drawings optimized for DFM and assemblability
• Build prototypes hands-on, manage inventory, and work with machine shops
• Write SOPs and provide support for the build team

Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field
• 3+ years of experience in a technical engineering environment
• Strong background in structural design including sheet metal, machined components, and welded assemblies
• Proficiency with FEA and engineering analysis for design validation
• Experience with CAD (Onshape, SolidWorks, or similar), GD&T, and tolerance analysis
• Hands-on prototyping skills in machining, fabrication, assembly, and mechanical testing
• Ability to work cross-functionally with electrical, software, and manufacturing teams
• Comfort working in a fast-paced startup environment
