About the Company

GITAI is a space robotics company working to reduce the cost of work in space by 100x. The company develops robotic systems for orbital, lunar, and defense applications, including assembly, inspection, maintenance, and construction.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, drawings, and mechanical design packages
• Work with electrical, software, propulsion, and robotics engineers to define requirements and interfaces
• Move from ambiguous requirements to workable mechanical concepts and detailed designs
• Support vendor and in-house fabrication by reviewing manufacturability and resolving build issues
• Assemble, integrate, inspect, and maintain prototypes and early builds
• Plan and execute mechanical and system-level testing, including reliability and failure investigation

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline
• 1+ years of experience designing and supporting electro-mechanical systems or mechanisms
• Proficiency with mechanical CAD
• Experience creating mechanical drawings and maintaining drawing packages
• Hands-on ability with mechanical assembly, integration, and testing
• Ability to safely lift and move items up to 40 pounds
• U.S. citizenship required for ITAR compliance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, robotics, or precision manufacturing
• Experience with space-related hardware or extreme environment testing
