Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to teams supporting global fleet steam cracking furnaces
• Apply personnel and process safety principles across global manufacturing facilities
• Utilize fundamental mechanical engineering principles to support design for global projects
• Participate in troubleshooting and development teams to address complex technical issues
• Train and mentor less experienced mechanical engineers in relevant skillsets
• Assist operating sites with unit start-up, mechanical troubleshooting, and performance evaluations
• Drive operational improvements through technical contribution and innovation

Requirements

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or higher
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles
• Proficiency with industry design tools for simulation and mechanical analysis
• Ability to travel approximately 10-20% of the year
• Effective verbal and written communication skills for technical reports and presentations
• Self-starter mindset with the initiative to develop and communicate technical issues

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with industry standards including ASME B31.3, ASME B31.1, ASME VIII, API 530, or API 560
• Experience performing flexibility analysis of piping systems using software such as Caesar II
• Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) using tools like Abaqus
• Previous experience working with fired equipment (e.g., steam cracking, process heaters, or combustion equipment)
• Experience interacting with 3rd party vendors, EPC companies, or drafting groups
