About the Company

Etched is building AI chips that are hard-coded for individual model architectures. Our first product (Sohu) only supports transformers, but has an order of magnitude more throughput and lower latency than a B200. We are a fully in-person team in Cupertino.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine mechanical designs for high-power data center products
• Manage the transition from appearance models to production-ready designs
• Work with internal design teams and external Joint Design Manufacturers (JDMs)
• Lead the design of data center chassis and enclosures focusing on cooling efficiency and ruggedness
• Oversee the development of soft and hard tooling to support mass production
• Ensure designs comply with manufacturing requirements, including shock and vibration standards
• Apply DFM principles to optimize designs for cost-effective manufacturing and assembly

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering with a focus on high-power data center products
• Proven track record in designing and managing chassis and enclosures for data centers
• Proficiency in mechanical CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, FX, or CATIA
• Deep understanding of tooling processes (soft and hard tooling)
• Familiarity with shock and vibration testing standards
