About the Company

Radiant is an El Segundo, CA-based startup building the world’s first mass-produced, portable nuclear microreactors. The company’s first reactor, Kaleidos, is a 1-megawatt, fail-safe microreactor designed to provide critical power to hospitals, data centers, and remote sites.

Responsibilities

• Support mechanical design of electrical assemblies including control panels, enclosures, brackets, and mounts
• Manage cable and wiring harness routing, retention, and strain relief
• Package sensors, actuators, and connectors within constrained assemblies
• Perform 3D CAD modeling and 2D drawing creation using Siemens NX
• Conduct first-order load calculations for static, shock, and vibration
• Perform thermal analysis and heat-transfer assessments for electrical components
• Assist in the design and setup of test fixtures and stands
• Develop, document, and execute test plans to verify mechanical and thermal performance
• Generate design documentation to support Design for Manufacturing (DFM)

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field
• 2+ years of professional hands-on mechanical design experience
• Proficiency with Siemens NX or similar 3D CAD tools
• Experience with mechanical design of electrical assemblies and harness routing
• Understanding of structural mechanics, load paths, and stress calculations
• Knowledge of thermal analysis and heat transfer concepts
• Ability to create mechanical drawings with dimensions and tolerances
• Must work 100% onsite at El Segundo HQ
