About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of next-generation liquid cooling and thermal systems for large-scale AI infrastructure and data centers
  • Own mechanical systems strategies including chiller plant design, heat rejection systems, and hydronic systems from concept through construction
  • Drive design execution across all phases (SD, DD, CD, and CA) for greenfield, lease, and retrofit projects
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Electrical, Controls, and Hardware engineering to optimize product designs
  • Manage Engineer of Record (EoR) teams and oversee deliverables, RFPs, and contract management
  • Perform research and development on emerging technologies and liquid enablement solutions to drive long-term technical strategy
  • Support commissioning, startup sequencing, and system validation to ensure smooth transitions to live operations

Requirements

  • 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience in mission-critical facilities or data centers
  • Demonstrated expertise in liquid cooling systems, chiller plant design, and/or hydronic system design
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience managing all phases of design delivery (SD, DD, CD, and CA)
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Strong ability to communicate technical decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience with prefabricated or modular construction methodologies (DfSMA)
  • Background in R&D or piloting new mechanical technologies in production environments
  • Experience representing Owner's interests on large capital programs
  • Deep understanding of BMS/EPMS integration and mechanical controls logic
  • Experience with hardware engineering thermal design validation and product reliability
