Responsibilities

  • Develop analytical models for water and energy consumption
  • Develop equipment layouts and flow diagrams for central utility plants
  • Prepare equipment bid packages, specs, and review submittals
  • Review and select mechanical equipment
  • Review and interpret mechanical design drawings and specifications
  • Coordinate with architects, electrical engineers, and other stakeholders
  • Monitor the installation of piping, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems
  • Conduct site visits to track progress and resolve conflicts
  • Analyze test data and troubleshoot mechanical system issues during commissioning
  • Assist in vendor management and answer RFIs

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in mechanical systems design and construction
  • Strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications
  • Experience with testing and commissioning procedures
  • Knowledge of building codes and industry standards

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in data centers or similar industrial environments
  • Familiarity with CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit)
  • Experience with data center specific mechanical systems
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer in Training (EIT)
  • Experience with modular construction
