About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design modular integrated buildings, low voltage switchboards, medium voltage switchgear, and critical power distribution equipment
  • Develop specification sheets, bills of materials (BOMs), detailed assembly instructions, and manufacturing documents
  • Deliver accurate shop drawings, product submittals, O&M manuals, and as-built drawings
  • Ensure product designs comply with regulatory requirements, commercial codes, and engineering standards
  • Participate in Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFMA) and Design for Excellence (DFx) reviews
  • Execute Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) for product release and lifecycle management
  • Collaborate with Sales, Project Management, Purchasing, and Manufacturing teams

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
  • 3-5+ years of experience in mechanical design, ideally with engineered-to-order power distribution equipment
  • Advanced proficiency with SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM
  • Strong knowledge of metals and materials used for fabrication
  • Working knowledge of building codes, energy codes, and UL listings
  • Ability to solve engineering problems utilizing a first principles approach
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) and/or Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • Experience using ERP/MRP software
  • Experience with simulation and analysis software such as FEA or FDM
