About the role
Responsibilities
- Design modular integrated buildings, low voltage switchboards, medium voltage switchgear, and critical power distribution equipment
- Develop specification sheets, bills of materials (BOMs), detailed assembly instructions, and manufacturing documents
- Deliver accurate shop drawings, product submittals, operation and maintenance (O&M) manuals, and as-built drawings
- Ensure product designs comply with regulatory requirements, commercial codes, and engineering standards
- Participate in Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFMA) and Design for Excellence (DFx) reviews
- Execute Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) for product release and lifecycle management
- Collaborate with Sales, Project Management, Purchasing, and Manufacturing teams
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
- 3-5+ years of experience in mechanical design, ideally with engineered-to-order power distribution equipment
- Advanced proficiency with SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM
- Strong knowledge of metals and materials used for fabrication
- Working knowledge of building codes, energy codes, and UL listings
- Ability to solve engineering problems utilizing a first principles approach
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Engineer in Training (EIT) and/or Professional Engineer (PE) License
- Experience using ERP/MRP software
- Experience with simulation and analysis software such as FEA or FDM
