Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on manufacturing support for pilot and production lines
• Assess design producibility and provide continuous design improvements
• Update design documentation based on feedback from prototype and pilot builds
• Assess non-conformances and participate in root cause investigations
• Lead prototyping efforts to reduce risk during manufacturing start-up
• Create standard procedures and contribute to work instructions
• Organize and lead design for manufacturing (DFM) reviews
• Collaborate with production teams to improve processes and equipment

Requirements

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent technical field (e.g., Manufacturing, Aerospace, Industrial, or Materials)
• 4+ years of experience in mechanical, manufacturing, or quality engineering
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
• Willingness to travel or work nights, weekends, or on-call as required
• Dedication to safety in environments involving heat, noise, high voltage, and cryogenics

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic CAD skills, with NX preference
• Expertise in ASME Y14 GD&T principles
• Experience in a production environment or designing large industrial equipment
• Design experience with composite materials, welding, or vacuum systems
• Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, or formal RCCA processes
