About the role

About the Company

Charge Robotics is a Series A startup building robots that build solar farms. MIT-founded and backed by top investors like Founders Fund and Y Combinator, we are working to speed up the world’s transition to renewables by addressing labor bottlenecks in solar construction.

Responsibilities

  • Designing, building, testing, and iterating on mechanical systems for solar assembly
  • Tracking, investigating, and resolving hardware issues with robots
  • Communicating with other engineers to integrate new designs
  • Working with large-scale mechanisms

Requirements

  • Experience with industry-standard CAD software (Onshape)
  • Ability to fabricate parts and manage external shop drawings
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Ability to work 4-5 days/week from San Leandro HQ
  • Openness to 10-15% travel to solar construction sites

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with industrial robot arms, end effectors, and automation systems
  • 4-year degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
