About the role

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage CAD models and drawings, including importing, simplifying, and documenting designs.
  • Develop CAD models of existing hardware to support integration and improvement.
  • Collaborate with product owners to define requirements and ensure designs meet performance, safety, and usability goals.
  • Use Onshape for modeling 3D sheet metal parts and complex, multi-part assemblies.
  • Create detailed 2D fabrication drawings using proper GD&T (ASME Y14.5), annotations, welding symbols, and bend information.
  • Design sheet metal parts and create flat patterns for fabrication.
  • Manage large assembly files and generate accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs).
  • Maintain and revise drawings and assemblies based on engineering change requests (ECRs).
  • Provide technical input for assembly documentation, operator manuals, and maintenance guides.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in Robotics, Automotive, or a similar domain.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (Onshape preferred, or SolidWorks, Creo, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and welding processes.
  • Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Understanding of mechanical systems, materials, and manufacturing methods.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with prototyping, testing, or hardware builds.
  • Demonstrated interest in automation, robotics, or safety-critical systems.
