Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, evaluate, procure, assemble, and test primary structure, bracketry, and mechanisms for spacecraft
• Develop component and system requirements, including loads, interfaces, and functional requirements
• Perform mechanical and thermal analysis for spacecraft systems
• Integrate parts and systems into the spacecraft and develop procedures to improve the build process
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful hardware integration

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• 1-4 years of mechanical design or equivalent experience
• Mastery of mechanical CAD
• Demonstrated fundamentals with mechanical and thermal analytic abilities
• U.S. Citizenship, Lawful Permanent Residency, or Refugee/Asylee Status (required for export control compliance)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with mechanical and/or thermal FEA
• Experience with composite structures
• Experience designing for vacuum environments with large temperature swings
• Experience with vibration environments
• Electromechanical design experience
