Mechanical Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support the mechanical engineering development of Applied Vehicles
• Contribute to the mechanical design of external sensor suites, compute assemblies, and vehicle interiors
• Perform structural and thermal analysis of mechanical designs using FEA/CAE
• Own the design, analysis, and validation of systems from the component level to the fully integrated vehicle
• Design hardware with a focus on scalability, manufacturability, and reliability in harsh environments
• Work cross-functionally to ensure mechanical designs meet organizational requirements
• Design, draw, and prototype custom harness cables and test fixtures
• Perform incoming quality control (IQC) including visual inspection and pressure testing

Requirements

• BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering
• 2+ years of experience designing hardware and shipping products
• Demonstrated experience in FEA/CAE
• Proficiency with CAD software, preferably Solidworks
• Experience with hardware reliability and testing
• Hands-on experience with CNC, machining, metal working, and welding
• Experience with automotive repair and maintenance
• Experience working with AV components such as Lidars, Radars, and Cameras

Preferred Qualifications

• NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) experience
