About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform hazardous and non-hazardous fluid operations for spacecraft servicing, specifically focusing on Environmental Control and Life Support Sub-Systems (ECLSS).
- Develop plans, write work authorization documents, and lead Task Teams for spacecraft processing.
- Support the assembly, test, and launch of NASA's Launch Services Program spacecraft, ISS processing, and Orion Crew Module.
- Prepare ground support equipment (GSE) in compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and pressure vessel safety standards.
- Create software products for firing room console interaction and execute tests for Orion Command Service Module (CSM) processing.
- Apply technical principles to ground-to-vehicle interfaces, vehicle/ground system design, and launch configuration.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Chemical, or Aerospace Engineering (or a related technical discipline) from an accredited school.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in reading and understanding technical manuals, drawings, and schematics.
- Valid U.S. driver's license.
- Ability to work in a hazardous testing facility environment, which may include climbing stairs, ladders, and walking on uneven terrain.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong background in mechanical or aerospace engineering related to flight hardware and ground support equipment.
- Knowledge of software development and control systems for monitoring and controlling hypergolic system hardware.
- Experience with Ground Flight Application Software (GFAS).
