About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering services for multiple simultaneous federal construction projects ranging from tens to hundreds of millions of dollars.
  • Oversee construction, contract administration, and quality assurance activities in accordance with established regulations.
  • Conduct site observations and provide detailed daily reports to government personnel.
  • Analyze design and construction issues regarding contract requirements and deliver compliance recommendations.
  • Review and interpret plans, specifications, submittals, cost estimates, pay applications, and change orders.
  • Participate in pre-construction conferences and provide technical and administrative support.
  • Apply expertise in HVAC systems, system controls, building automation, chilled water, plumbing, and utility plants.

Requirements

  • US citizenship is required; must pass a federal background review and drug screen.
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an accredited college.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering, construction, and contract administration.
  • Deep expertise in HVAC and complex building systems.
  • Strong English communication skills, both oral and written, for client and contractor interaction.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
  • Experience with US Army Corps of Engineering (USACE) or other federal projects.
  • Proficiency using RMS 3.0.
  • Experience with large-scale federal building design and construction projects ($100M+).
