About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide engineering services for multiple simultaneous federal construction projects ranging from tens to hundreds of millions of dollars.
- Oversee construction, contract administration, and quality assurance activities in accordance with established regulations.
- Conduct site observations and provide detailed daily reports to government personnel.
- Analyze design and construction issues regarding contract requirements and deliver compliance recommendations.
- Review and interpret plans, specifications, submittals, cost estimates, pay applications, and change orders.
- Participate in pre-construction conferences and provide technical and administrative support.
- Apply expertise in HVAC systems, system controls, building automation, chilled water, plumbing, and utility plants.
Requirements
- US citizenship is required; must pass a federal background review and drug screen.
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an accredited college.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering, construction, and contract administration.
- Deep expertise in HVAC and complex building systems.
- Strong English communication skills, both oral and written, for client and contractor interaction.
Preferred Qualifications
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
- Experience with US Army Corps of Engineering (USACE) or other federal projects.
- Proficiency using RMS 3.0.
- Experience with large-scale federal building design and construction projects ($100M+).
