Mechanical Engineer 3

Responsibilities

• Plan and perform engineering research, design, and development in conformance with customer specifications
• Create and review Mechanical CAD drawings and component layout designs
• Maintain assembly drawings for enclosures, circuit boards, and cable assemblies
• Manage mass properties including weight, CG, and inertia to meet performance targets
• Design tooling, fixtures, and jigs for prototype builds and production
• Apply DFx principles to improve manufacturability, assembly, and reliability
• Conduct rapid prototyping using 3D printing, composites, and machined parts
• Support build, integration, and flight test activities while troubleshooting mechanical issues
• Utilize military specifications for Shock, Vibration, Temperature, and Humidity requirements
• Support manufacturing through work instruction generation and technical guidance

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
• 6-9 years of mechanical engineering experience
• Proficiency with 2D or 3D engineering design tools such as AutoCAD or ProE
• Strong knowledge of Solidworks
• Experience with computer-aided engineering (CAE) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM)
• Proficiency with GD&T and engineering drawing standards
• Knowledge of engineering analysis tools like ANSYS or ProMechanica
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret DoD clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)
