Mechanical Drafter

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain detailed 2D and 3D mechanical drawings for UL 891, UL 508A, and UL 67 enclosures
• Prepare fabrication drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), cut sheets, and revision histories
• Collaborate with engineers to ensure proper component clearances, wire-bending space, and heat dissipation
• Provide drafting support to fabrication and assembly teams and resolve fit-up or clearance issues
• Ensure mechanical designs comply with UL standards and support UL inspections and audits
• Maintain CAD model libraries and documentation within a PDM system

Requirements

• 3+ years of mechanical drafting or design experience focused on electrical enclosures or industrial control panels
• Strong proficiency with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Inventor
• Experience producing fabrication-ready drawings for sheet metal enclosures
• Understanding of component spacing, ventilation, thermal management, and accessibility
• Ability to interpret electrical schematics and engineering specifications
• Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting or Mechanical Design preferred
