Mechanical Designer

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed 3D models and assemblies in SolidWorks from conceptual sketches and engineering inputs
• Create fully populated mechanical assemblies to support production documentation and assembly instructions
• Apply GD&T principles to engineering drawings to ensure design intent and manufacturability
• Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to translate ideas into functional designs
• Maintain CAD data integrity within PDM systems, managing revisions and part libraries
• Support prototype development and design reviews by incorporating feedback from manufacturing teams

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in Mechanical Design, Mechanical Drafting, Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience
• 3+ years of professional experience in SolidWorks within engineering or manufacturing environments
• Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks part modeling, assemblies, and drawing generation
• Strong understanding of machining, sheet metal fabrication, and design for manufacturability
• Working knowledge of GD&T and ASME drafting standards
• Experience managing CAD data using PDM/PLM systems like SolidWorks PDM or Windchill

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with electrical enclosure or power distribution standards (UL891, UL508A, UL67, UL1008)
• CSWP or CSWA certification
• Experience in manufacturing, industrial equipment, or R&D environments
