Mechanical Designer

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical design of ground support equipment (MGSE) used to manufacture, assemble, or deliver antennas, payloads, and space electronics.
• Develop mechanical concepts, 3D models, and associated documentation including detail/assembly drawings, parts lists, and user guides.
• Integrate multidisciplinary requirements from electrical, manufacturing, alignment, thermal, and structural analysis into designs.
• Suggest new concepts to meet customer specifications and select components based on technical constraints.
• Monitor component supplier operations and support the use of designed equipment during integration and testing activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, automated production engineering, or an equivalent field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical design.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project).
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Eligibility to obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level and pass assessments for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in CAD design software such as NX, Creo, or Catia.
• Strong knowledge of geometric tolerancing and industry drawing standards.
• Experience specifically in the mechanical design of tooling and jigs.
• Knowledge of the space industry.
• Bilingualism in English and French.
