Mechanical Designer

Responsibilities

• Utilize 3D design software such as SmartPlant 3D, Bentley OpenPlant, or AutoCAD Plant 3D to create 3D equipment models
• Design piping systems and generate isometric drawings for industrial and power generation facilities
• Perform early project design work related to facility layout and equipment general arrangement
• Develop, monitor, and check design deliverables in accordance with industry codes and standards
• Navigate 3D models to check for interferences and constructability
• Support construction teams by answering RFIs and providing creative design solutions on-site
• Coordinate with internal and external design partners, construction partners, and equipment suppliers
• Train, mentor, and advise lower-level designers and support staff

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in Computer Aided Design and Drafting Technology, Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 10-15 years of 3D modeling and detailed design experience
• Proficiency with SmartPlant 3D (or similar), Microstation, and AutoCAD
• Experience in Nuclear, Industrial, Power, or Oil and Gas sectors
• Expertise in piping design, equipment layout, and pipe support design
• Must be a US Citizen or US permanent resident
• Ability to pass a background check

Preferred Qualifications

• DOE and Commercial Nuclear experience
