About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end mechanical design and development of heatsinks and power electronic assemblies, ensuring thermal performance, structural robustness, and IP compliance.
  • Generate product concepts using CATIA V5, with a focus on plastics and die-castings.
  • Drive thermal management strategies through simulation (CFD/FEA), validation testing, and optimization for high-power automotive applications.
  • Support Design for Manufacturing (DFM), supplier coordination (extrusion, die-casting, machining), and root cause resolution to meet cost, weight, and reliability targets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, hardware, supply chain, QA, and marketing.
  • Perform assembly analysis using basic tolerance stack-up methods and apply component joining and assembly technologies.
  • Manage New Product Development (NPD) and Proof of Concept activities.
  • Build and test prototypes, revising designs based on performance, manufacturability, and user feedback.
  • Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, including drawings, BOMs, inspection plans, and assembly instructions.
  • Conduct research on materials, competitor products, and emerging technologies to drive innovation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Mechanical, Automobile, Manufacturing, or Production Engineering.
  • 8+ years of professional experience in mechanical design.
  • Expert proficiency in CATIA V5.
  • Experience with design tools such as ANSYS or SolidWorks.
  • Strong knowledge of electromechanical product design (e.g., sensors, actuators, control modules, DCDC converters).
  • Deep understanding of plastics and die-casting manufacturing processes.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Familiarity with DFMEA, failure analysis, and product development life cycles.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Proven record of professional publications and patents.
  • Experience in interpreting basic CAE structural simulation results.
  • Knowledge of thermal management concepts and systematic design.
