Mechanical Designer - Brakes

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of brake system products, including HBV, FBV, Relay Valves, and advanced systems like ABS, EBS, and ESC.
• Perform engineering design calculations to ensure robust and reliable product performance.
• Create detailed 3D CAD models, technical drawings, tolerance stacks, and engineering specifications.
• Conduct DFMEA, DVP&R, and design reviews to manage technical deliverables from concept to launch.
• Collaborate with global engineering teams to ensure designs meet safety, durability, NVH, and regulatory requirements.
• Drive technical problem-solving and root cause analysis while contributing to Design to Cost (DtC) initiatives.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in product design and development, specifically within automotive brake systems or related components.
• Expertise in product design methodologies, including DFMEA, GD&T, and tolerance analysis.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, casting, and forging.
• Knowledge of CAE methodologies and the ability to interpret simulation results.
• Experience with DVP&R and structured problem-solving tools like DMAIC.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working within an OEM or Tier 1 supplier environment.
• Exposure to advanced braking technologies such as ADAS, ABS, EBS, and ESC.
