Mechanical Designer

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Parts and Auxiliary Design Engineers to transform sketches into functional assemblies
• Leverage CAD software tools including Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, Geomagic, VX Elements, and Creo to prepare and refine drawings
• Utilize 3D scanning techniques for reverse engineering and produce detailed drawings
• Examine and update drawings and bills of materials to ensure compliance with industry codes
• Facilitate design reviews, perform tolerance analyses, and implement GD&T methodologies
• Design efficient layouts for optimal equipment placement and suggest appropriate materials
• Participate in meetings with customer engineering consultants or internal divisions
• Confirm that designs meet company safety and quality standards

Requirements

• Associate's degree or equivalent work experience in Technical Drafting
• 2-5 years of experience designing machinery
• Solid understanding of fabrication, welding, machining, and casting
• Proficiency in Inventor, Geomagic, AutoCAD, or Creo
• Understanding of mechanical design, manufacturing, and material selection
• Sufficient understanding of GD&T principles and techniques
• Valid passport and ability to travel up to 25% domestically and occasionally internationally

Preferred Qualifications

• 5-10 years of machine design or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of boiler, pulverizer, and/or combustion equipment
• Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
