Mechanical Designer

Responsibilities

• Provide innovative mechanical and plumbing solutions from preliminary design through construction
• Perform design analysis and calculations including load, ventilation, and energy
• Generate overall plans, layouts, schematics, and flow diagrams
• Develop construction documents including drawings and specifications
• Manage project execution and maintain relationships with architects, contractors, and owners
• Handle construction administration including submittal reviews, RFI responses, and field monitoring
• Ensure code compliance and system selection

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an ABET accredited program
• Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
• 3-5 years of design and construction administration experience in HVAC/mechanical and plumbing systems
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit
• Knowledge of Hawaii codes, ASHRAE standards, NFPA, SMACNA, and ASME
• Experience with commercial, multi-tenant housing, and military base projects

Preferred Qualifications

• Mechanical Professional Engineer (PE) License
