Mechanical Design Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Support direct reports and programs through technical guidance and peer review
• Collaborate with senior technical leaders to establish and enforce technical best practices
• Support Department Manager with employee development and retention initiatives
• Partner with HR and Talent Acquisition to identify and hire engineering talent
• Lead performance management and development efforts for direct reports
• Partner with programs to meet tactical staffing needs and resolve resource conflicts
• Support proposal efforts as required

Requirements

• Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
• Demonstrated success as an individual technical contributor or technical team leader
• Experience recruiting and hiring technical employees
• Ability to apply analytical and critical thinking to multi-disciplinary problems
• Technical expertise in at least one relevant engineering domain
• US Citizenship with ability to obtain a DOD security clearance
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in matrixed organizations
• Experience managing technical teams of 10+ in resource-constrained environments
• Active DOD security clearance
