Mechanical Design Engineering Manager

Responsibilities

• Manage and develop engineering talent responsible for the form, fit, and function of ground and flight mechanical systems
• Support direct reports through technical guidance, peer reviews, and performance management
• Collaborate with senior technical leaders to establish and enforce technical best practices and standards
• Partner with HR and Talent Acquisition to identify, interview, and hire qualified engineering talent
• Resolve resource conflicts and manage tactical staffing needs in alignment with program goals
• Support proposal efforts and strategic staffing initiatives as required

Requirements

• US Citizenship with the ability to obtain a DOD security clearance
• Demonstrated success as a technical contributor or technical team leader
• Experience recruiting and hiring technical employees
• Technical expertise in at least one relevant engineering domain
• Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related discipline with 10-15+ years of relevant experience (depending on level)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience leading and managing small-to-medium sized technical teams (10+) in aerospace development
• Experience working in matrixed organizations and staffing personnel across multiple programs
• Active DOD security clearance
