Mechanical Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Interpret customer specifications to produce 3D/2D CAD models and supporting drawings using Solidworks.
• Design and fabricate tools, equipment, and prototypes for thermal products.
• Conduct experiments, gather and evaluate test results, and produce detailed technical reports.
• Perform failure analyses on production line and field products to resolve manufacturability issues.
• Manage product documentation, including BOMs, routing, and regulatory/quality compliance records.
• Provide technical support and coaching to less experienced technicians and production employees.
• Collaborate with suppliers to explore cost-saving ideas and manage part orders.
• Participate in change control processes and use PLM/ERP systems to manage product updates.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• At least 3 years of industrial experience in a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical design.
• Proficiency in 3D solid modeling software, specifically Solidworks.
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
• Practical understanding of electrical, thermal, and basic metallurgical principles.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and fluency in English (verbal and written).
• Ability to work onsite at Kulim High Tech Park, Kedah.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Project Management or Lean manufacturing methodologies.
• Knowledge of change control fundamentals and processes.
• Experience working in a team-based environment with cross-functional stakeholders.
