Mechanical Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Use CAD for mechanical packaging and collaborate with peers on design
• Assist and collaborate with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) teams
• Perform hands-on hardware integration
• Support the development and documentation of mechanical, fluid system, and thermal environment requirements
• Perform and document analyses to validate and verify that systems and components meet specifications
• Present designs to management, senior leaders, and customers
• Contribute to supplier development, test, and production activities
• Support the development and maintenance of system, component, and installation designs

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautical, or Material Sciences)
• U.S. Citizenship is mandatory
• Ability to obtain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance
• Level 2: 1+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Level 3: 3+ years of related systems design and integration experience
• Active Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance
• Experience with electro-optic development programs
• Experience with systems engineering and integration of complex systems
• Proficiency with FEA tools such as Hypermesh, Inspire, FEMAP, or ANSYS
• Experience with industry standard CAD and PDM tools like SolidWorks, NX, Creo, or Teamcenter
• Experience with technical analysis including Structural, Thermal, and Dynamics
• Experience with harness design, construction, and associated CAD routing tools
