Mechanical Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop, characterize, validate, and verify new process development for NPI products
• Design and develop processes to optimize flow, reduce variability, and improve capability
• Develop process improvements for high efficiency and cost effectiveness
• Maintain process optimization and validation programs
• Review and buyoff process CTQs data, PFMEA, control plan, and SPC
• Collaborate with design teams on new packing and giftbox construction
• Manage sustaining production processes including yield, cycle time, and production efficiency
• Drive cost-saving initiatives from product and process introduction

Requirements

• Bachelor or Master degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Experience in Mechanical Process & Assembly engineering
• Understanding of EMS industry processes, materials, and technology (SMT, tooling, mechanical assembly)
• Strong teamwork and constructive problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in Root Cause analysis and oral/written communication
• Experience communicating with local CM and suppliers

Preferred Qualifications

• SMT process experience and knowledge
• Experience in assembly process jigs and fixtures development
• Experience in backend packing assembly (blister sealing, automation, marking, labeling)
• Knowledge of PFMEA and Quality 6sigma tools
• Knowledge of DOE/CZ simulation tools for process optimization
