Mechanical Design Engineer (Process)

Responsibilities

• Develop, characterize, validate, and verify new process developments for NPI products to ensure successful qualification
• Design and develop processes to optimize efficient process flow, reduce variability, and improve process capability
• Implement process improvements focused on high efficiency and cost-effectiveness
• Maintain process optimization and validation programs
• Review and approve process CTQs data, PFMEA, control plans, and SPC
• Collaborate with the design team on new packaging and giftbox construction related to process guidelines
• Manage sustaining production processes, including yield, cycle time, and production efficiency improvements

Requirements

• Bachelor or Master degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent field
• Proven experience in Mechanical Process & Assembly engineering
• Strong understanding of general EMS industry processes, materials, and technology (e.g., SMT, tooling, and mechanical assembly)
• Proficiency in root cause analysis and constructive problem-solving
• Strong oral and written communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SMT processes and knowledge of assembly process jigs and fixtures development
• Experience in backend packing assembly processes, such as blister sealing, automation, marking, or labeling
• Knowledge of PFMEA and Quality 6sigma tools
• Knowledge of DOE/CZ simulation tools for process optimization
• Experience communicating with local CMs and suppliers to resolve technical issues
