Mechanical Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own the mechanical design lifecycle including 3D CAD, 2D drawings, material selection, and manufacturability
• Develop and refine manufacturing processes such as injection molding, die casting, stamping, and machining
• Ensure reliability and robustness through HALT/HASS, tolerance stack-ups, and environmental testing
• Use FEA tools for thermal, structural, and vibrational simulation to validate designs
• Lead system integration efforts with electrical and radio teams to balance thermal and EMI needs
• Prototype and iterate quickly using machining, sheet metal fabrication, and 3D printing
• Manage vendor relationships and work with JDM/CM/ODM partners

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience taking hardware products from concept to production
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Deep understanding of high-volume manufacturing processes
• Familiarity with HALT/HASS, FMEA, and DOE methodologies
• Proven record of mechanically integrating electronics like sensors, PCBs, and batteries
• Proficiency in prototyping methods including mill, lathe, and 3D printing
• Ability to work in early-stage, fast-paced startup environments
