Mechanical Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver next generation networking systems including modular and fixed chassis and cards
• Develop innovative mechanical solutions using sheet metal, plastic, and die-cast
• Create 3D CAD models using Creo or NX
• Produce detailed drawings applying GD&T principles
• Perform 2D tolerance analysis for complex electro-mechanical assemblies
• Resolve design issues impacting manufacturing by collaborating with suppliers and teams
• Exchange PCB design IDF files with ECAD teams to address mechanical integrity
• Host peer and cross-functional design reviews

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• 7+ years of experience designing electronic enclosures
• Proficiency with 3D MCAD tools such as Creo or NX
• Experience with sheet metal design for mid to high volumes
• Expertise in GD&T and tolerance analysis
• Strong knowledge of sheet metal, plastic, and die-cast tooling

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical design for computer/network equipment in data centers
• Experience designing sheet-metal parts using soft and hard tooling guidelines
• Experience designing and manufacturing fixtures for experiments and prototypes
