About the role
Responsibilities
- Establish and document requirements and conceptualize product architectures
- Design parts and assemblies utilizing SolidWorks
- Perform mechanical analyses including FEA, CFD, and hand calculations
- Generate engineering drawings per ASME and GD&T standards
- Compile Bills of Materials and provide technical supply chain support
- Work with technicians to build initial prototypes
- Create Design Validation Plans and Reports (DVP&R)
- Support testing execution and interpret results for design recommendations
- Integrate sub-systems into full systems
Requirements
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Graduate Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
- GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Hands-on experience assembling mechanical systems
- Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar CAD software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional understanding of engineering fundamentals
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with manufacturing processes such as machining, Metal AM, and composites
- Experience producing 2D part drawings and GD&T
- Experience with linear structural FEA
