Mechanical Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise and lead primary engineering for GIS/PASS switchgear across various voltage levels (145 KV, 245 KV, and 420 KV).
• Participate in technical kick-off meetings and review customer specifications and compliance reports.
• Define milestone deliverables including Base Design, Bill of Materials (BOM), and Detail Design.
• Prepare Electrical and Gas SLDs, Plan and Section drawings, and 3D models for high voltage GIS substation configurations.
• Prepare guaranteed technical particulars for GIS and HV equipment such as Breakers, disconnectors, and GIB.
• Execute Detail Design tasks including rating plates, cabling, earthing, and civil requirements.
• Manage BOM preparation and release within the SAP MM module.
• Support troubleshooting for factory and onsite issues through root cause analysis.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 4-8 years of experience in primary design, with a preference for GIS Engineering expertise.
• Proficiency in 3D design tools such as ProE, CREO, or AutoCAD-3D.
• Strong knowledge of IEC, IEEE, IS, EN, and ANSI international standards.
• Experience with SAP (specifically the MM module).
• Knowledge of MV/HV Substation Design.
• Proficiency in both spoken and written English.
